🛠️ How to Fix a Mistyped Referee Email

If you’ve entered the wrong email address for a referee, don’t worry — you won’t need to start over! While you can’t edit a referee’s contact details after a request has been sent, you can still fix it by following these simple steps.

📩 Step 1: Open the Email from Credibled

Look for the email with the subject line: “Pre-employment reference request”

Inside, click the “Add my references” button to access your reference dashboard.

🔁 Step 2: Add a New Referee (with the Correct Email)

You’ll be taken to the reference page where you’ll see a “Request Sent” label next to any referee you've already submitted.

Click “Add” to input a new referee with the correct contact details.

✏️ Step 3: Edit If You Haven’t Submitted Yet

If you haven’t clicked “Review” yet, you can still update the referee’s info by clicking the ✏️ icon.

🔒 Why Can't I Edit a Sent Request?

Once a request is submitted, it’s locked to ensure process integrity. You’ll see a “Request Sent” tag and won't be able to modify that referee’s details.

✅ Pro Tip:

Double-check everything before hitting "Review" to make last-minute edits easier!
