How to Enable your Camera for ID Verification


To complete identity verification with Certn, you'll need to take a photo of yourself. This article will guide you through enabling your browser's camera to finish the process.

This guide provides steps for different browsers and operating systems, as shown in the table below. To find the instructions you need, locate your browser in the table, then select the corresponding operating system from that row.

Safari

This section shows you how to enable your camera in Safari. To find the right steps, choose your operating system below:

MacOS

This section guides you through enabling your camera in Safari on macOS.
When our web app asks for camera access, a prompt will appear. Simply click Allow to grant permission.



If you selected Don't Allow, reload the page so that the prompt appears again.
If you selected Never for this website, follow these steps:

  1. Open Safari's Preferences. To do so, open the Safari menu and then select Preferences.
  2. In Preferences, select the Websites tab, and then select the Camera tab to see a list of currently open websites.
  3. Next to the entry that contains certn.co, select the drop-down list and choose Allow.
  4. Return to Safari and reload the page so that the prompt appears again.  

iOS

This section explains how to enable your camera in Safari on iOS.

When our web application requests access to your camera, a prompt appears automatically. Select Allow to enable your camera.


If you selected Cancel, reload the page so that the prompt appears again.

If the prompt does not reappear, follow these steps:

  1. Tap the Page Settings icon in the search field, and then select Website Settings.
  2. Tap Camera and set it to Allow.
  3. Select Done to close the settings. To apply the changes, you may need to reload the page.

Chrome

MacOS

If you selected Block, follow these steps:

  1. Select the camera icon in the search bar.
  2. Select the option to allow camera access.
  3. Select Done. To apply the changes, you may need to reload the page


Windows

When our web application requests access to your camera, a prompt appears automatically. Select Allow to enable your camera. 


If you selected Block, follow these steps:

  1. Select the camera icon in the search bar.
  2. Select the option to allow camera access.
  3. Select Done. To apply the changes, you may need to reload the page.

If the prompt for camera access does not appear, the Edge app may not have access to your camera. You can enable access in System Preferences. For instructions, refer to this Apple help article

Windows

If you selected Block and the Remember this decision check box was not selected, then Firefox temporarily blocked camera access for this site. To unblock camera access, follow these steps:

  1. Select the camera icon in the search bar.
  2. Select the 'X' on the Blocked Temporarily tag to remove it.
  3. Reload the page so that the prompt appears again.


If you selected Block and the Remember this decision check box was selected, then you need to unblock camera access from Firefox's settings. For instructions, refer to this Firefox help article

  2. Next to Camera, select Blocked. The Blocked label changes to Allowed.
  3. Tap outside of the menu to close it. To apply the changes, you may need to reload the page.
